A little treasure for the spring garden, both dainty and robust. Dense with pea flowers in shades of pink fading blue

lathyrus vernus
- bushy semi-evergreen perennial
- habitat woodland
- low hummocky growth
- purple-blue, pea-like flowers
- spring flowering
- die-back in hot summers
H 5- 12″
S
part sun to shade
moist soil
Notes: Purchased – 03.20 local Yorkshire Horticulture club. After the flowers have faded the foliage starts to die back and by midsummer it is all but gone. It did not do this in Summer of 2021 so I kept it infrequently watered. Keep potted for the Cottage garden
