masses of mauve flowers on tall spires, for months on end
Erysimum ‘Bowles’s Mauve’
- short-lived evergreen perennial
- upright, bushy
- lance-shaped, grey-green leaves
- erect racemes of mauve to purple flowers
- slightly fragrant
- late winter into summer.
Notes: Purchased 2020: two small plants but neither thrived well perhaps because the potting compost soil is too rich. March 2021 – both plants looking healthy and full of bud. Flowered profusely until June – died from neglect in the heat when transferred to new home before the actual move.
March 2022 Purchased 1 plant from Matlock garden centre as ideal for the Cottage Garden
